I love everything about Chi Chi<3 Literally I am so grateful to come across this because of teh Black Girl Magic Panel at the Virtual Crunchyroll Expo, I did not know at all that a community of Black women were in the anime/manga world! My heart is so full, and the story is sooo addicting, I can't get enough!

One of the best starts to a magical girl story I've ever read. The art is beautiful, the characters compelling, and it leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait to dig into the other issues of the series. I definitely plan to buy the physical copy as well when it becomes available! Please check this out!

I loved this series so much. It’s helped me to reevaluate how I view myself, with my own anxiety and empathy and love of pink lol. This story heals my heart and I can’t wait for the next installment!!

The artwork is so amazing and it is captivating to read. I was up until 2 in the morning reading to see what would happen next. I wish it was in full color, it would be SO beautiful!

Tracie J.
The manga is exactly what I need as a young, black, magical girl! I relate with the main character so much. As a young black girl who has struggled with anxiety and crying fits all her life it feels good to look at something in a book and see myself inside and out. All the characters I can relate to in some small way but to see myself in the main character brought me to tears. Thanks you so much for making my dreams come true.

The real definition of Black Girl Magic
Simone
It is really black girl magic. I love the creativity and the design of the comic book. I am a sailor moon fan and it is giving me Sailor vibes!

Its was refreshing to finally see a Manga with characters my color in it. I show it to me little cousins and everything

I'm in love and now have to read them all... real black girl magic
Maris N.
I guess I kinda understand how Adaeze feels, but if there's something I know, its that crying doesn't make one weak. Being able to express emotions, she's just not over the trauma and I still love her, she has potential and I'm certain when she unleashes her "CHI". SHE'S gonna be so badass and that " cry-deze" will be gone. This issue was really amazing and soft and magical

The Black Sailor Moon, I always knew I needed, but never had!! I wish I could have grown up with this creativity and showcasing of this black girl and guy magic! Especially in book/manga/comic form! I’m living for this character development and the struggles these people are going and growing through emotionally, physically etc. WE get to be the center of the story and not just the best friend or hype woman/man/person to another character. I LOVE this so much!!! Thank you very much for creating this.
Elizabeth F.
A fun, amazing read that made me crave more!
Deitrich L.
I was able to get the comic today! #freecomicbookday Even though I’ve also preorder the manga! I’m absolutely in love with everything. The characters, art work, story line, everything is phenomenal!!!

I am seriously about to cry right now. When I heard about this, about having a magical girl comic series showcasing powerful heroines that also uses Igbo mythlogy and is set in Nigeria, I couldn't believe it. It is so cool to see a character with a name like mine. When I was younger, I used to be bullied because of my name, and I started to become ashamed of it. I have since learned to shed that mindset, but if only I had this when I was little!
Thank you so much for this. The story, the artwork, everything is amazing and I can't wait to read the next one!
Erin W.
I like the second and third comic and I can't for the 4th one.
This really help bring back my confidence.
Kayla B.
The art-work is fantastic and the burgeoning story-line is keeping me invested. I love the characters, and the mix between traditional manga style and Nigerian culture. Of course I'm always here to support black-anything, but I really enjoyed reading this and was fully invested the entire time. Worth it!
Cristhal F.
So far this is just an intro to the story, but the artwork is stunning and I can't wait to find out what happens next. And to be perfectly honest, I love seeing manga characters with hair like mine!
Chloe W.
Cute opener. I loved the different prints that people were wearing and all the different hairstyles the women had. I appreciated that the afros were given texture. So far, I like Adazae and Chi is super cute. The comic just tells you about Adazae's personality and backstory, and those are things I think readers could have picked up on as the comic progressed. This issue was exposition heavy, but it was the first. I'm planning to read the next issue.
Armoni W.
I really love the story telling and the characters. The artwork is very beautiful. I highly recommend this book for people who are interested in magical girls or the fantasy genre in general

Kemberli C.
I easily blew through the first issue that's how excited and in love with it I was. I've even been telling people about it that I knew that were black as well. The art is so cute and magnificent and I'm in love with the theme song for the series as well.
Extremely well job done.
Jasmine V.
I loved learning about Adaeze and her friends! She's a relatable and lovely heroine with a big heart, I'm excited to see her bloom in future issues!
Amber
I'm so happy it's finally out. I am really looking forward to it being released in print. (please, please, please) The artwork is gorgeous! The story line is only just beginning so I can't say much for that yet but I like what I've seen so far. I hope maybe one day the shorter issues will be released in volumes like manga.
